Four yarsagumba robbers nabbed

KATHMANDU: Four people have been arrested for robbing 4 kg yarsagumba on Saturday. Among the arrested are Bikas Rokaya, 25, of Paik, Jajarkot; Santosh Salami, 27, of Dagatungdanda, Baglung; Makar Agreja Magar, 27, of Khunga, Baglung and Nirmal Salami, 26, of Walischaur, Baglung. On July 16, these four and seven others had manhandled Lal Bahadur Shrestha of Marku, Dolakha, and robbed him of the medicinal herb. They had invited Bahadur, a trader and distributor of yarsagumba in Royal Restaurant and Hooka Bar in Samakhusi by impersonating as policemen. Metropolitan Police Crime Division had nabbed the four robbers in Nakkhu, Lalitpur; and Gongabu of Kathmandu.

Elderly held for rape

BHAKTAPUR: Police arrested an elderly person for raping minor on Monday. Babu Kaji Basnet, 76, of Suryabinayak had raped 12 year old girl of Kutunje on Sunday. The victimised minor has been taken to hospital for medical examination.

Bootleggers arrested

KATHMANDU: Two bootleggers were arrested for producing and distributing illegal liquor on Sunday.  The arrested bootleggers hailing from Kavre are Purna Dong, 52, of Ghuseni and   Sainla Tamang, 41, of Shyampati. A police team acting on a tip off had nabbed the duo with 150 litres of hooch from Ganbahal. Similarly, police on Sunday arrested Dina Magar, 39, of Tokha with 400 litres of homemade liquor.

Bodies found

KATHMANDU: Bhim Bahadur Shrestha, 63, of Tanahun was found dead at Kapan, Budhanilkantha, on Sunday. According to police the deceased elderly had died while taking a nap in the rented room of his daughter. In another case, Panima Sherpa, 16, of Marvu, Dolakha, was found dead. She was a student of Bahira School at Bhimsen Municipality. Police said she had been reported missing since Friday. Her body was found in Bandevi forest on Sunday.
