Free education for quake-hit children

KATHMANDU: The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training has decided to provide free education to a total 500 students from 14 districts worst affected by the April 25 earthquake.

CTEVT spokesperson Shiva Shankar Ghimire shared this information during a press meet organised in the capital on Wednesday.

He said only those students who have obtained identity cards of ‘A’ category provided to quake survivors can apply for the scheme.

He said CTEVT will run special classes for quake-hit students from June 2.

The students provided freeship will be given a living allowance of Rs 3,500 per month, transport allowance of Rs 1,500 annually, Rs 2,500 as dress allowance and hostel facility.
