KATHMANDU: A full meeting of UCPN-Maoist's Central Committee started at the party's central office in Parisdanda in Kathmandu on Sunday afternoon.

The meeting, which was earlier scheduled for 11 am, kicked off after 2 pm.

Earlier in the morning, Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal called an emergency meeting of the Standing Committee at his residence after senior leader Baburam Bhattarai quit the party.

Senior leaders of the party are airing their views on the current political situation of the country in the wake of promulgation of new Constitution.

The meeting was fixed before the promulgation of Constitution.

Meanwhile, CC members, including Prabhu Saha, who are believed to be close to leader Bhattarai also have attended the meeting.

It has been learned that the meeting will continue tomorrow also.
