KATHMANDU: The Nepal Music and Drama Academy organized a special programme coinciding with the Gaijatra festival today to pay tributes to the people killed in the April 25 and May 12 devastating earthquakes. Comedy artistes, litterateurs, drama artistes and musicians were among the audience present in the programme staged at the Nepal Academy amphitheatre. Before this, artistes decked in various costumes took out a rally from Hanumandhoka to the Nepal Academy. Vice Chancellor of the Music and Drama Academy Sambhujeet Banskota said the procession was held in memory of the earthquake victims. Addressing the programme, Chancellor of Nepal Academy Ganga Prasad Uprety, Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts Ragini Upadhyaya, senior lyricists Shree Purush Dhakal and CK Rasaili and senior comedian Kiran KC expressed condolences to the departed souls.
