Gangster Manange out on bail

Kathmandu, November 3:

Gangster Rajib Gurung aka Dipak Manange, who was rearrested by the police immediately after he was freed on bail yesterday, was released today.

The Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) had arrested Manange immediately after he was released after paying a bail amount of Rs 20,000 to the Kathmandu District Court.

The court had set Rs 20,000 bail each on Manange and five of his friends on Tuesday. They were charged with murder bid on Kaji Sherpa in January. Manange had initially refused to submit the bail amount fearing rearrest.

Four of his friends were released yesterday after submitting the bail. Those freed include Umesh Lama, Kamal Bhandari, Dawa Sherpa and Ramesh Sunuwar.

Police officials at the MPCD refused to comment why Manange was rearrested and how he was released today.
