Give continuity to post-quake relief: Kutin

KATHMANDU: Helmut Kutin, honorary president, SOS Children's Village International, today urged the SOS Children's Village Nepal to give continuity to its humanitarian works begun after the April 25 earthquake.

Kutin applauded the immediate relief works carried out by the SOS in Nepal after the earthquake. SOS Children's Village Nepal was declared the best among SOS children's villages in 134 countries last year, he said.

Inaugurating the 23rd General Assembly of SOS Children's Village Nepal at Sanothimi today, he said children are the future of any country and the SOS should fulfill its responsibility by providing shelter to the children affected by the quake.

During the programme, Kutin, National chairperson of SOS Children's Village Nepal Prof Bishwokeshar Maskey and National Director Shree Shankar Pradhananga feted Angat Nath Yogi from SOS Children’s Village, Surkhet, and Babita Sapkota from SOS Children's Village, Bharatpur, with Rs 10,000 each for scoring the highest marks in School Leaving Certificate examinations.
