Govt announces two-days' holiday for educational institutions on Aug 30-31
KATHMANDU: Schools in Kathmandu Valley will remain closed on August 30-31 in view of the fourth summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).
The Ministry for Federal Affairs and General Administration released a statement today announcing a two-day holiday for schools and colleges during the summit.
The statement reads that the local governments have requested educational institutions to shut on the said dates in order to facilitate security and management of movement of the VIPs arriving in the valley to take part in the summit.
Nepal is hosting the seven-member BIMSTEC summit for the first time.
