Govt approves concept paper on money laundering report for submission to APG

Kathmandu, February 27

The government has decided to approve a concept paper related to preparation of mutual evaluation report on Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Financing of Terrorism for submission to Asia/Pacific Group of Money Laundering. Nepal is a member of APG.

Speaking at a press conference organised in Singha Durbar today to announce February 17 decisions of the meeting of the Council of Ministers, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yubaraj Khatiwada said the Cabinet approved Hedging Rules, Standard Measurement and Weight Rules, Association Registration Rules, National Defence University Infrastructure Development Committee Formation Order and Air Quality Standards Management Action Plan for Kathmandu valley.

The government granted approval to Birgunj Sugar Mill to sell six bigha land out of 10-6- 4 bigha land owned by the sugar mill in Birgunj metropolis-14.

The Cabinet also decided to approve the visit of a Nepali delegation led by Minister of Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Parbat Gurung to New York to participate in the 64th conference of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women slated for March 9 to 20.

Minister Khatiwada said the government decided to accept the resignation tendered by Nepali Army pilot Colonel Arjun Khatri Chhetri. It has grant approval to polytechnic school of Sindhulachowk to use 0.8970 hectare of forest land.

The government also approved Local Infrastructure Development Partnership Programme Operating Procedure Rules and endorsed a proposal on public holidays to be declared in 2020-21.

Sobha Budhathoki of Kathmandu, Uddhav Chandra Ghimire of Morang and Narayan Nepal of Kathmandu have been appointed members of the Nepal Law Commission.

The Cabinet nominated Rama Shrestha of Lalitpur, Harindra Rai of Khotang and Bhojman Lamgade of Ilam as counsellors of National Judicial Academy.

Tenure of the Nepal-India Border Inspection Committee has been extended till mid-July.

Resignation tendered by Jagat Deuja as a member of the Investigation Commission on Protection of Government, Public and Trust Land has been accepted.
