National Medical Education Bill to be taken forward through legislative procedure
KATHMANDU: The much-awaited National Medical Education Bill-2075 BS is to be taken ahead through ordinary legislative procedure.
The Bill was tabled in the House by the government on Sunday and it is meant to replace the National Medical Education Ordinance that was issued by the government some eight months ago.
Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokhrel said, the Bill would be taken ahead through parliamentary process, calling on the main opposition for support and cooperation to endorse it as soon as possible.
The main opposition Nepali Congress had opposed the contents of the bill and government’s move to suspend the parliamentary regulation to table the bill.
Minister Pokhrel described the Bill as country's requirement, insisting on the need of passing it on time to address issues seen in the field of medical education as well as health sector.
