Kathmandu, June 20:

Though international serial killer Charles Gurumukh Sobhraj is serving life term slapped by the Kathmandu District Court (KDC) a year ago, government authorities are not clear whether or not to reopen another 30-year-old case against him. According to a government source, the case relating to the killing of Canadian national Laurent Armand Carriere was found 30 years later, but it has not clearly accused Sobhraj; so the authorities are still thinking whether

or not to prosecute him in the second case. The Patan Appellate Court is examining the one-year-old KDC verdict that convicted Sobhraj on charge of murdering American national Connie Jo Bronzich. “Unless police forward their investigation report before us, we cannot prosecute him in the second case,” Chief of Bhaktapur District Attorney, Purna Prasad Banstola, said.
