Kathmandu, December 22:
The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare (MoWCSW) has decided to form a committee under the coordination of a joint-secretary of the MoWCSW to prepare a report with a view to bringing cabin, dance and dohori sanjh restaurants under the ambit of law.
â€œThe committee will focus on bringing the restaurants under the ambit of law and come up with directives to operate them,â€ Ritu Raj Bhandari, an undersecretary at the MoWCSW, said today.
The committee will submit its report to the ministry within three months. It will comprise under-secretaries of the Ministry of Labour and Transport Management, Industries and Commerce, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Home, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, representatives of the Pro Public and other NGOs and the employersâ€™ organisation. Bhandari added that the Pro Public had filed a petition in the Supreme Court on the issue of operation of the restaurants three years ago.
