Great Peace fest opens

The Shri Swetakali Bhajan Mandal Naradevi (SSBMN) on Monday organised a Great peace festival in the Khulla Manch on Monday for reviving religious belief, culture and bringing back peace to the country. Swami Dr Jagat Guru Prapannacharya, standing committee member of the Raj Parishad, inaugurated the programme with a peace yagya.

Ninety stalls manned by 20 SSBMN volunteers lent colour and verve to the occasion. Around 551 earthen idols of gods and goddesses depicting various phases of their lives were exhibited. The festival included Maha Rudri yagya and peace yagya, religious prayers and chants, exhibition of ceramic products, science and technology, commercial stalls and recreational games for children.

The organisers charged Rs 10,000-20,000 for each stall and Rs 6,000-18,000 for exhibiting banners in the festival. SSBMN general secretary Rajan Maharjan said the fund raised thus will be given to the Old Age home in Pashupati, provide medicare at clinics and contribute to the gymnasium in Naradevi.
