Guinness record-holder proves his cawing mettle at crow conference

Lalitpur, October 26:

Coinciding with Kag Tihar, Gautam Sapkota today surprised hundreds of people by gathering a large number of crows over in the sky by cawing in Balkumari.

“I could call only around 500 crows. I was expecting some more crows but it couldn’t materialise because of unmanaged crowd and my poor health,” Sapkota said after the 2nd Crow Conference. He also said that it was a difficult job to caw continuously for two hours. “This is the first time that I cawed for such a long time. I am feeling dizzy,” the bird-man from Hetauda said. Gautam holds a Guinness World Record for calling more than 150 birds at a time. He can mimic more than fifty birds from parrot to endangered female ostrich.

Last year, too, Gautam had managed to call hundreds of crows in Ratnapark. “Though I couldn’t call the expected number of crows today, I would very soon call more crows.”
