KATHMANDU: Police arrested a person in possession of 166 grams of undeclared gold from the Tribhuvan International Airport on Saturday.

According to the police, Chandra Niraula of Ghailadubba, Jhapa was arrested with gold worth Rs 693,133 from the prepaid taxi counter after he managed to escape the arrival customs point unchecked.

Niraula had landed at the TIA from Doha on a Qatar Airways flight.

A person is not allowed to carry more than 50 grams of undeclared gold at the TIA.He has been sent to the Customs Office, Sinamangal for necessary action.
