High winds briefly halt international flights

KATHMANDU: International flights to and from the Tribhuvan International Airport were briefly halted on Monday due to high winds.

Some international aircraft were put on hold in the air for around one-and-half hours after winds disrupted the runway, while two others were redirected elsewhere, said the TIA General Manager at TIA Dewananda Upadhyay.

He said that a plane of Air Arabia was redirected to Lucknow in India and another of Korean Air to Bangkok. He, however, informed that flights resumed later.
