Home minister off to Sri Lanka

Kathmandu, July 11

Home Minister Janardan Sharma left for Sri Lanka today to take part in the home minister-level SAARC meeting.

Talking to mediapersons at Tribhuvan International Airport before flying to Colombo, Minister Sharma said the meeting would hold discussions on challenges facing SAARC.

Discussion on effectiveness of crime control efforts is one of the issued to be discussed at the meeting, which will also touch on issues relating to drug smuggling and terrorism, according to him.

During his three-day trip, Sharma will also meet his Sri Lankan counterpart Vajira Abeywardena.
