Hong Kong-bound Nepali woman held with USD 38.9k
KATHMANDU: A Nepali woman, who was preparing to fly to Hong Kong from the Kathmandu airport, has been arrested on Saturday after police found that she illegally possessed US Dollar 38,950 and Hong Kong Dollar 600.
The suspect is Pemala Lama (Passport number: 09987108) from Nakhipot of Lalitpur district.
Police said she had hidden the cache of foreign currencies in her suitcase and was heading to board a Nepal Airlines flight from the Tribhuvan International Airport.
Further investigation is underway.
