The amendment to the Act now allowes the RJP-N, which was formed merging six Madhes-centric parties on April 20, 2017, to contest in the second round of local polls with the election symbol of any six parties before the unification as per their choice.

Following the decision of the meeting of the Council of Ministers, which was held today itself, to register the amendment act at the Legislature-Parlaiment, Minister for Home Affairs Janardan Sharma had introduced the bill at the parliament today.

After this, discussions on the amendment bill were held at the House meeting before the Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar held voting by word of mouth.
