House boycott on

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, Unified CPN-Maoist, boycotted the discussion on Appropriation Bill on second consecutive day on Tuesday. Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang, while stalling the meeting, urged the government and the main opposition party to soon sort out their differences through dialogue so that the House could continue discussion on Appropriation Bill. Before walking out of the hall UCPN-M lawmaker Prabhu Sah said his party could not take part in the discussion on the budget that had neglected the concerns of the party. “Since the budget allocation had not addressed necessary issues, including agriculture, employment for youths, reconstruction and peace process, our party cannot take part in the discussion,” he said. Next meeting of the Parliament is scheduled for 3:00pm on Wednesday.
