I'm dedicated to duty, claims PM

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has pledged to leave no stone unturned to perform his duties with a full dedication.

Addressing a tea reception organised by Press Chautari Nepal on the occasion of its 18th establishment day here on Friday, Prime Minister Oli said he would leave no place for questions over his performance when he would make his exit from the Singha Darbar.

He said to work in the interest of the nation was his goal.

The mega campaign for the reconstruction of earthquake-damaged structures had already kicked off and the five-year campaign for renovating disaster-affected heritages of archaeological importance would start from April 24, the Prime Minister said.

He urged the people not to take his commitments to make the country self-dependent on power productions within the next two years lightly, adding that he was accountable for his public commitments.

The CPN-UML Chairman further said drafting the Constitution by the people's representatives was not a minor achievement and none should forget to acknowledge this historic achievement.

Oli said he was embarking on visits to India and China and such visits would be meaningful.

On the occasion, CPN-UML Dissemination and Publicity Department Chief Yogesh Bhattarai said the party was always fighting for press freedom and the rights of working journalists.

President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Mahendra Bista said the year 2015 recorded 136 incidents of the violation of press freedom and 114 alone were reported during the course of the fresh Tarai agitation.

Chautari's Chair Rajendra Aryal and General Secretary Madhav Nepal were also present on the occasion.
