Implement UN resolution on women, say women leaders

Kathmandu, December 5:

Women leaders today stressed the need to implement Resolution 1325 of the United Nations Security Cou-ncil in all security bodies and law enforcement agencies.

Speaking at a round-table talk programme jointly organised by the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare, UN Development Fund for Women, and Saathi, a non-governmental organisation, UML Standing Committee member Sahana Pradhan said women should be included in all stages of the peace process.

“Resolution 1325 requires all member countries to increase women’s participation in all national mechanism,” said Arju Rana of the NC-D.
