Guthi dissolves panels

KATHMANDU:

The Boudha Ghyang Guthi on Tuesday dissolve the committees that used to look after the construction and financial aspects of Guru Lhykhang Gumba and Ajima Mandir. According to a press statement issued by the president of the Guthi, Chiniya Lama, the decision was taken after some members were found to have violated the historical norms of the Guthi and the laws of the Guthi Sansthan. — HNS

Relief for tsunami victims

KATHMANDU:

Students of the People’s Dental College and Hospital handed over Rs 60,000 to Sri Lankan ambassador Grace Asirwatham for the Tsunami victims on Tuesday. While they had collected Rs 50,000 by organising a fund-raiser on Saturday, the remaining sum was collected from hospital staffers and patients on Sunday. — HNS

NC leader found dead

BHAKTAPUR:

Nepali Congress Achham district constituency-2 chairman and chairman of the Nepali Liaison Committee, India, Khadga S Rawal, was found dead on a road near Brighter area of Bhaktapur. Rawal, 71, had been staying in Baneshwor. — RSS
