Dr Bista to address meet
KATHMANDU: Dr Sachindra Bista, chief architect of eParliament.org and founder president of the Global Initiatives for Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Action, will address three forums on democracy and governance during the World Social Forum to begin from January 16 in Mumbai, India. According to a release issued here by the Global Initiatives, he will talk on "How to use Internet to empower people towards true democracy?" on January 17, "Forum on Global Democracy" on January 18 and "Towards a world parliament: Global Democracy from below" on January 19.
KATHMANDU: President of the Rotary Club of Rajdhani (RCR), Rajendra B Shrestha, handed over a pair of wheelchairs to two disabled of the Nayapati VDC â€” Bimal Shrestha and Shiva Ram Shrestha â€” amidst a function recently. The wheelchairs were received from the Rotary Club of Kasthamandap.The RCR is executing various community development projects in the village.
NWPP for House revival

Temple awaits renovation
BHAKTAPUR: There is the need of renovation of Harishankar Bishnu Temple of Bhaktapur Durbar Square, destroyed in the earthquake of 1990 BS and listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The temple built 347 years ago is in dilapidated state and only a couple of lion statues are there after the destruction. The temple was constructed during the time of king of Patan Srinibas Malla in Nepal Sambat 777. The beautiful artistic temple reflects the Nepali architecture, said Lilabhakta Munakarmi. RSS
