Code for NC ministers

KATHMANDU: Acting president of Nepali Congress Sushil Koirala on Wednesday instructed NC ministers to consult with the party leadership before taking any important decision. Following complaints by the party cadres and leaders that the ministers were ignoring the party, Koirala called the ministers at NC headquarters in Sanepa. He asked them to not be involved in corruption and to listen to the grievances of the partymen, NC sources said. — HNS

Murder condemned

KATHMANDU: Human Right Organisation of Nepal (HURON) today expressed its serious concern over the murder of Lagam Liwang, secretary of Liwang VDC of Taplejung. The press statement issued by the human rights organisation stated that Liwang was abducted at 7 pm on Tuesday by unidentified group of 10 to 12 people from district headquarter Phulingtar and subsequently shot dead. HURON further added that it is was the criminal act and said that the number of crimes are increasing in the country with apparent impunity. The body had also demanded to book the culprits immediately. — HNS

22 stolen bikes found

KATHMANDU: The traffic police recovered 22 stolen motorcycles from Sindhupalchowk district on Tuesday. According to SP Rabi Raj Shrestha, the bikes have been brought to Kathmandu and will be handed over to respective owners shortly. The same number of such theft bikes were recovered from Chitwan and Makwanpur districts on Sunday. Metropolitan Traffic Police Division receives three complaints of motorcycle theft on an average each day. — HNS
