Traffic campaign

KATHMANDU: The data of Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) recorded during its special traffic campaign suggests that the violation of traffic rules is relatively lesser then past few days. Though, it hasn't been fully curbed. As joint team of traffic police seized 554 licenses, 469 licenses and 168 route permits last Friday. Similarly, seven vehicles were found lying in the 'No parking Zone', while 88 vehicles were caught flouting lane regulations. Seventeen taxis were found tampering their metres. — THT Online


RPP-N condemns

KATHMANDU: An emergency meeting of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal held here on Sunday condemned the government's decision to sack Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Rookmangud Katawal, claiming that the the decision is unconstitutional. Issuing a press statement, president Kamal Thapa stated that the decision was against the Comprehensive Peace Accord. "The decision was motivated with the intention of dividing the Nepali Army, which is the ultimate fort of the national security," stated the release. —THT Online


Mountaineering feat

KATHMANDU: Four members of the Korean Spirit to the World expedition team have successfully reached the summit of Mt Annapurna (8091m). According to the mountaineering division of the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, the members include Kang Jung of Korea and Chhiji Norbu Sherpa and Pemba Sherpa of Solukhumbu and Lunga Ongel Sherpa of Sankhuwasabha. The eight-member expedition was led by Park Tea Won. — RSS
