Cartoonists’ meet
KATHMANDU: Himal South Asian is organising the first-ever meeting of editorial cartoonists from across the region. The two-day conference will kick off in Kathmandu on November 14. Thirty-six cartoonists from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are taking part in the conference. — HNS
Therapists’ panel
KATHMANDU: Physiotherapists on Tuesday formed a Physiotherapists’ Society Nepal (PSN) to safeguard their professional rights and provide quality services to the needy. The society has Dr Ajaya Yadav as chairman. Dr Gayatri Thapa, Dr Gaurav Subedi, Dr Shanbhu Adhikari and Dr Sunita Shrestha are vice-president, secretary general, secretary and treasurer of the body, whereas Dr Inosha Bimali, Dr Hari Prasad Acharya, Dr Kushal Ranabhat and Dr Nibha Bajracharya are committee members. — HNS
Abductors nabbed
KATHMANDU: The police have nabbed Bir Bahadur Gole, 35, and Mahanta Gole alias Maila for abducting 32-year-old Shataraj Gurung from Chabahil on Octobber 25 and seeking ransom for his release. Gurung, Bir Bahadur and Mahanta hail from Tistung -6 in Makwanpur district. — HNS
