IN BRIEF

Call for consensus

KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the Constituent Assembly (CA), Subas Chandra Nembang, said here on Friday that delay in the formulation of CA Regulation had delayed the process of framing a new constitution. Speaking at a discussion organised by the Nepal Press Union (NPU) on “Challenges of constitution making”, Nembang said the formulation of CA Regulation has been delayed due to differences among parties. The CA chairperson said constitution-making process would be a cakewalk if the parties shunned their differences. He said the Constituent Assembly Secretariat was working to expedite the constitution-making process systematically. Vice-president of the Nepali Congress (NC), Ram Chandra Poudel, said Nepali people would not stand dictatorship under any pretext. CPN-UML Standing Committee Member, KP Sharma Oli, said Peoples’ Liberation Army fighters, who have been living in cantonments, cannot be integrated into the national army. — RSS
