Revoke-cess plea
KATHMANDU: Organisations working in the field of education have urged the government to reconsider its decision to impose five per cent education cess on schools. In a press release, the organisations said they would not pay the five per cent education cess. Private and Boarding Schools’ Organisation-Nepal, National Private and Boarding Schools’ Association of Nepal, Higher Secondary Schools Association of Nepal, Association of Private Health Institutions-Nepal, Association of Engineering College-Nepal and Nursing College Association-Nepal called on the government to do a rethink on the decision. — HNS
Free dental camp
KATHMANDU: National United School, Hattiguda, with support from the Health and Development Society, organised a free dental camp on Wednesday to raise awareness on oral hygiene. Eighteen dentists, nurses and associates attended to schoolchildren and and local residents. At the camp, J B Hamal, principal of the school, gave away a letter of honour to the HDS for its support. — HNS
