Indo-Nepal pact

KATHMANDU: Nepal and India signed an agreement on Wednesday to execute small development projects through local bodies and non-governmental organisations. Under the agreement signed at the Ministry of Finance, the government of India will provide grant to local bodies and NGOs for the execution of small development projects for the social-economic development of Nepal, particularly for construction of infrastructure such as roads and electrification and social infrastructure such as in education, health and community development. — RSS

Teachers’ call

Kathmandu: Nepal Institutionalised School Teachers’ Union has said private schools should be nationalised. It demanded that school education be made free and said it would not accept a separate act to govern private education.— HNS
