CIAA files graft case

Kathmandu: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Tuesday filed a corruption case in the Special Court against chief comptroller in Nuwakot district Padam Prasad Adhikari. This is the first case the CIAA has filed in the court against any of the 53 officials indicted by the Rayamajhi Commission for graft. The CIAA has charged Adhikari with illegally amassing property. Adhikari hid property worth Rs 1.6 million and failed to produce the property details, the CIAA stated. — HNS

Fare monitoring panel

BHAKTAPUR: A ‘Transportation Fare Monitoring Committee’ was formed in Bhaktapur on Tuesday to monitor the misuse of student ID cards and use of fake cards to get discount on transport fares. The committee has representatives of traffic police, Bhaktapur Mini Bus Sewa Samiti and All Nepal National Students’ Union-Revolutionary, Bhaktapur. — HNS
