NBA’s demand

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the Office of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, demanding the government to declare deceased lawyer Jagadish Acharya a martyr. A group of lawyers, including Nepal Bar Association president Bishwa Kant Mainali, submitted the memorandum demanding that Acharya, who was killed by the Jatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha last month, be declared a martyr, Nepal Bar Association general secretary Raman Kumar Shrestha said. In the memorandum, the NBA also called the government to provide Rs 1.5 million as compensation to the victim’s family. — HNS

Education fair

KATHMANDU: The Direction Nepal is going to organise the 6th Higher Education and Career Fair from June 26 to 29 at Direction Exhibition and Convention Centre in Tripureshwor. Issuing a press release on Tuesday, the Direction Nepal said counselling on education, training and career would be provided to visitors during the fair. The fair would feature around 50 educational institutions from Nepal and India, according to the organisers. — HNS
