Israel praises Nepalis

KATHMANDU: Israel on Monday congratulated the Nepali people for the successful completion of the constituent assembly election. By conducting free and fair election, Nepal has taken a huge step forward on the path of peace and democracy, a release issued by the Embassy of Israel said. Meanwhile, in a statement on Monday, Danish Minister for Development Cooperation, Ulla Toernaes, hoped that the election would become an important step towards a prosperous future for Nepal. — RSS

Man shoots at brother

KATHMANDU: Rabin Bhattacharya, 35, shot at his brother Rohit at Naxal on Monday following a minor family dispute, police said. Injured on the right thigh, Rohit is undergoing treatment at Bir hospital. Police said Rabin is on the run and the gun has been seized. — HNS
