Tamu meet concludes

KATHMANDU: The first Kathmandu district conference of Tamu National Liberation Front Nepal concluded on Saturday forming a 29-member executive committee under the leadership of Jit Bahadur Ghale. The committee comprises vice president Raju Tamu, secretary Mahendra Tamu, joint secretary Bijaya, treasurer Rajman and joint treasurer Manraj. Kamala, Man Kumari, Dil, Tek, Som, Dilu, Yumaya, Durgesh, Nim Bahadur, Prithvi, Rohit, Prem, Ash Bahadur, Ashuta and Prem Bahadur are the members. — HNS

Ancient idols seized

KATHMANDU: A team of police from the Metropolitan Police Sector, Durbarmarg, on Friday seized an abandoned idol of Buddha, a Bajra, 98 pages of Tibetan manuscript and a leopard skin in Kantipath. Police said they were following a suspicious people near the area. “When we got close to them, they abandoned the material and fled away,” the police said. — HNS
