Rs 30m Indian aid
KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador Shiv Shankar Mukherjee on Tuesday laid foundation stone for the Tulsi Memorial Mahaguthi women’s hostel in Gothatar. India has donated assistance worth Rs 30 million to the hostel with capacity to accommodate 100 women trainees. At the function, Mukherjee expressed commitment to provide all sorts of assistance. He also said the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi will be contextual when Nepalis will work for peace and stability. — RSS
World Habitat Day
KATHMANDU: Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Mahanta Thakur, on Tuesday said modern technological materials should be used to cope with the challenges of urbanisation. Inaugurating an exhibition organised by the Society of Nepal Architecture on the occasion of the World Habitat Day, Thakur said quality construction is needed to minimise risk of earthquake. The exbibition is being organised at World Trade Centre, Tripureshwar. — RSS
