Tremors recorded

KATHMANDU: The National Seismological Centre at the Department of Mines and Geology on Friday recorded an earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale. The epicentre of the quake that was felt at 1:56 pm was in Ahale of Bhojpur district. The centre also recorded tremors measuring 4.5 and 4.3 on the Richter scale at 9:35 am and 12:31 pm the same day. — RSS

Nepali fair in Canada

KATHMANDU: The Nepalese Canadian Community is organising a Nepali cultural festival in Toronto — “Nepali Mela: The Himalayan Festival” — on August 26. The fair, being organised at the Nathan Philips Square, 100 Queen Street West, will allow people there to “experience and celebrate” the rich cultural heritage of Nepal. The fest will feature an extensive array of Nepali arts, crafts, food, folk dance and music. — RSS

Meet on CA polls

BHAKTAPUR: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Bhoj Raj Pokhrel on Friday appealed to all to strive to make the CA polls a grand success and not hold doubts on whether it would be held on November 22. Speaking at a four-day-long poll orientation programme held for Regional Education Directors and District Education Officers of 75 districts by the Department of Education, Sanothimi, Pokhrel also directed District Education Officers to hold orientation programmes for voters. — RSS
