Railway extension
KATHMANDU: India is to extend railway service in four places along the Nepal-India border, including Jogwani, Nepalgunj, Nautanawa and New Jalpaigudi. Primary works for extension of the railway service along the border from Jogwani of India to Biratnagar of Nepal, from Nautanwa to Bhairahawa, New Jalpaigudi to Kakadbhitta and Nepalgunj road to Nepalgunj, have been completed, it is reported. Extension of the railway is expected to play a creative role in economic development of the region and the country, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After the extension of the railway lines in the border areas, a new dimension would be added in the harmonious relation between Nepal and India, said spokesperson of the Ministry Arjun Bahadur Singh.
