KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Education and Sports has regretted the misprint on the Class-X textbook on Social Education. The ministry has stated that the mistake will be immediately corrected. The textbook was published by the Janak Education Material Centre. Victoria Cross

Peasants’ plea
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Peasant Association (NPA) on Wednesday called on members of the civil society, human rights activists and others to facilitate the return of 20 bighas seized by the Jantantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (Jwala Singh). The NPA said in a press release, “A group of JTMM cadres confiscated 20 bighas and a house belonging to Bhagat Bahadur Lama, a central member of the NPA, and his brothers at Yagyabhumi VDC-4 of Dhanusha.” — HNS
Nepal 1 accord lauded
Kathmandu: The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) on Wednesday welcomed an agreement reached between agitating employees of Nepal 1 Television and the management on May 7. According to an IFJ affiliate, the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, the accord was signed between the management representative, Pradeep Roy, and the journalists’ representative, Rebati Sapkota. “The signing of this agreement is a victory for employees,” IFJ president Christopher Warren said in a press release. — HNS
Brothers’ death probe
Kathmandu: Excessive carbon monoxide might have caused the death of three brothers —Anil, Sunil and Sujan Bajracharya — in a room in the capital on April 20, a police official said on Wednesday. “We are investigating the case from this perspective. Evidence gathered so far indicates that carbon monoxide caused their death,” joint commissioner SSP Upendra Kanta Aryal, a member of the investigation team headed by DIG KB Rana said. “The viscera report also says carbon monoxide caused their death. — HNS
