CIAA grills NRB guv
Kathmandu: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today quizzed Governer of Nepal Rastra Bank, Bijaya Nath Bhattarai, on the charge of misusing the state treasury during the Jana Andolan-II. Bhattarai appeared before the CIAA immediately after receiving the summons issued today. The notice had directed him to present himself before the anti-graft body within seven days. The CIAA investigating officer questioned him on the basis of the report prepared by the former Supreme Court Justice Krishna Jung Rayamajhi. A CIAA source said he is also facing other complaints. — HNS
Panel formed
Kathmandu: Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction on Tuesday formed a six-member panel to suggest the laws, legal boundary and structure related to Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Ministry sources said the committee, headed by a joint-secretary of the ministry, includes two lawyers. The committee has been assigned to recommend the laws, commission’s jurisprudence and its structure, the source added. — HNS
