Autonomy to media

KATHMANDU: Minister of State for Information and Communications Dilendra Prasad Badu has disclosed that ground work is being done to make the government media autonomous by placing them under the Parliamentary Committee and the effort has reached the final phase. Speaking at an interaction held by the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Radio Nepal Unit here on Tuesday, Minister Badu said the government was expediting the work to give autonomy to the government media as per the report of the high-level media recommendation commission. — RSS

KATHMANDU: A writ petition was filed on Tuesday at the Supreme Court demanding dissolution of the Rule 3 of the Pashupati Development Trust Working Regulations-2054 BS, arguing that it has violated right to equality ensured by the Constitution. Nepal government and the Pashupati Area Development Trust are among the defendants named in the petition filed by Tek Bahadur Raika on behalf of the Dalit NGO Federation, Kamalpokhari. — RSS
