Dhakal awarded

KATHMANDU: Sahitya Sandhya Kathmandu has awarded litterateur Ghanashyam Dhakal from Pokhara with the Sahitaya Sandhya award of this year. Dhakal has been awarded with this prize for his contribution in Nepali literature by writing stories, novels and poems. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Pradip Gyawali, gave away the prize with a purse of Rs 5,000 along with the letter of commendation in Kathmandu on Saturday. Sahitya Sandhya has been regularly awarding the literary figures since 2043 BS. — RSS

Polio vaccination

BHAKTAPUR: Two newly born babies at Bhaktapur Hospital have been immunised polio in the second round of National Polio Immunization Campaign-2063. According to Chief of District Public Health Office (DPHO) Bhaktapur, Arjun Kumar Adhikari, a newly born daughter of Babita BK and another newly born son of Sabita Yakami of Bhaktapur Municipality were immunised immediately after they were born. According to the DPHO, some 30,000 kids will be immunised in Bhaktapur district. — RSS

New team at NHRO

KATHMANDU: The 10th national convention of the Nepal Human Rights Organisation (NHRO) has constituted a new central committee under the chairmanship of Sudip Pathak, state a press release on Saturday. Nanda Kumar Sharma and Gunanidhi Neopane have been elected as vice-presidents of the NHRO. — HNS
