NC’s condolence

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) in a press statement has said it is deeply saddened over the demise of Binod Kumar Koirala, elder brother of the party vice president Sushil Koirala. Koirala, 71, died on Wednesday morning at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital. Koirala was an active party member. His body was cremated at the Pashupati Aryaghat on Wednesday. — HNS

Fellowship for scribes

LALITPUR: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has announced fellowship for journalists willing to collect news about the issues related to human rights. The Human Rights Fellowship worth Rs 25,000 each would be provided to six journalists, according to the NHRC. The NHRC called for detailed proposals including the subjects, areas and methodology for the write-ups from interested media persons. — RSS
