Ex-cop, girl caught

Kathmandu: Locals of Kadaghari in Koteshwor on Friday caught a former police official and a 17-year-old girl in a compromising situation in the former’s house and handed them over to the Koteshwor Area Police Office. The police office freed Janak KC, 45, former Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police and Priti Khadka, 17, on the condition that they get married at the Kathmandu District Administration Office as soon as possible. The locals had asked KC to marry the girl some days ago but in vain. They (locals) had also warned KC and Khadka not to continue their affair. — HNS

Camp clothes seized

KATHMANDU: A police team at Thankot seized 200 metres of camp clothes of the Maoists packed in a sack from a bus coming to Kathmandu from Sindhuli. According to the police, the clothes were sent in the name of one Arjun of Sindhuli. The police said the name of the recipient was not mentioned in the sack. — HNS
