Young scientist honoured

KATHMANDU: Diwakar Jha was awarded the Orbit Foreign Education Award on Wednesday at a function. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 295,000. Orbit International Education, an educational consultancy, has been providing the award to support bright students for pursuing higher education abroad since its inception in 2000. Jha has already been decorated with a number of national and international honours. At the age of 18, he was awarded the RONAST Science and Technology Academy Award-2005, International Physics Young Ambassador by European Physics Society, France. He won the Gold Medal from Tamkang University Taiwan for physics where he was titled with “Young Scientist” by the university. — HNS

KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoists affiliated Tamang National Liberation Front Nepal (TNLF-N) has decided to hold its second national convention from November 21 to 23 in Kathmandu.
