60 shops gutted
KATHMANDU: Around 60 shops were gutted when a fire broke out at Hong Kong Bazaar in Bhrikutimandap on Wednesday, police said, adding that the cause of the fire was still not known. Five fire engines from Kathmandu and Lalitpur took two hours to douse the fire. — HNS
Sandalwood gifted
KATHMANDU: Indian envoy to Nepal, Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, has gifted 246 kg of sandalwood, estimated at Rs 1.4 million, to the central office of the Guthi Sansthan at Pashupatinath on Wednesday, the Indian Embassy said in a press release. The Sansthan had requested the Embassy of India to provide the sandalwood for conducting the worship of Lord Pashupatinath. — HNS
