Students seek probe

Kathmandu: Tharu Students’ Society on Saturday condemned the murder of a waitress, Renu Chaudhary, at Jadibuti and demanded a probe into the incident and punishment for the guilty. “The owner of Araniko Restaurant is responsible for the murder of Chaudhary. We demand the concerned authorities to probe into the case and punish the guilty,” states a press release issued on Saturday by TSS president Chandra Narayan Chaudhary. — HNS

APF function

KATHMANDU: Crown Prince Paras and Crown Princess Himani and members of the royal family participated in a special cultural programme and dinner organised by the Armed Police Force at the Gyanendra APF Officers’ Club at the APF headquarters, Halchwok, on Saturday evening, a press statement issued by the APF said. The programme was organised to greet the Crown Prince on the occassion of his 35th birthday. Inspector General of APF, Sahabir Thapa, offered a special gift to the Crown Prince on the occasion. The Chief Justice, Speaker, Chairman of the Raj Parishad Standing Committee, Vice-chairman of the council of ministers Kirti Nidhi Bista, diplomats and others attended the function. — HNS
