KATHMANDU: The Valley Police on Tuesday arrested Anil Shrestha, 37, on charge of producing fake driving licences. According to the police, Shrestha, a resident of Kathmandu, was cheating people by providing them fake driving licences. Police caught him with some fake documents and a computer from Bagbazaar, police said. — HNS

Robber in custody

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court sent Rajesh Deula, 30, into judicial custody on Wednesday. Deula was arrested while he was trying to flee after looting Rs 470,000 from the Rastriya Beema Sansthan on October 25. The order came after Deula failed to submit a bail of Rs 853,000. Deula had opened fire on Bayan Bahadur Karki, a peon, after he tried to stop Deula from fleeing. Deula was held after another staffer informed the police about the looting. — HNS
