Ranabhat’s message

Kathmandu: The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Taranath Ranabhat, has said nationality and democracy can be rescued only by taking recourse to the centrist political course. Stating that “the main foundation of the centrist course is the Constitution of Nepal 1991,” he said constitutional monarchy and multiparty democracy are its companions. In a message sent on Tuesday on the occasion of the 15th Constitution Day, Ranabhat wished for successful implementation of the constitution. Stating that Nepal has been facing three deviations - political instability, ill-governance and corruption, he said they were to blame for uncertain situation facing the country. — HNS

One held with arms

KATHMANDU: Acting on a tip-off, the police held Krishna Tamang from his flat in Nepaltar on Monday night and seized a fake pistol, khukuri and other sharp weapons from his possession. The police had been informed that a Maiost had been living in the flat. — HNS
