Tainted officer’s case
LALITPUR: The Royal Commission for Corruption Control (RCCC) recorded statements of Bamdev Dip Adhikari, the survey officer of the Land Management Training Centre, Dhulikhel, who has been indicted for amassing property through illegal means, at the RCCC office, on Friday. Accusing Adhikari of amassing about Rs 5.9 million by abusing authority, the RCCC had filed a case against him. — RSS
Minister opens film
KATHMANDU: Minister for Information and Communication Tanka Dhakal inaugurated Nepali movie Premyudha amidst a function on Friday. The film produced by the Sagarmatha Films Productions is directed by Suchitra Shrestha. It is the first-ever movie directed by a woman director in Nepal. — HNS

KATHMANDU: The Chief Justice, Dilip Kumar Paudel, has said the Supreme Court is committed to protecting the rights of women. KATHMANDU: US missions in Nepal, including the US Embassy, American Centre, Consular Section, and the USAID, will be closed on the occasion of the Labour Day, which falls on Monday, the American Centre said on Friday. — HNS
One robbed
KATHMANDU: Four unidentified persons looted Rs 20,000 from Phatte Narayan Shahi at Dhobighat, Lalitpur early on Friday. Shahi was on his way to Kalanki when the looters beat him up and forcibly seized the cash from him, Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari, said. — HNS
