Nepali clears MRCS
KATHMANDU: Dr Sussie Shrestha has become the first Nepali woman to pass the Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) examination held on June 16, 2005, at Edinburgh, the UK. Dr Shrestha also has the distinction of being one of the first two Nepali women to complete MS in General Surgery from the Tribhuvan University in 2001. She is the daughter of Krishna Bhakta Shrestha, former Editor-in-Chief of Gorkhapatra, and Professor Dr Pushpa Shrestha, former member of the National Planning Commission. — HNS
NUTA’s 43rd anniv
Kathmandu: The 43rd Nepal University Teacher’s Association (NUTA) Day was marked on Friday. Teachers hoisted a flag for ‘43rd NUTA Day: Determination to democracy, academic freedom and solidarity for peace’, said a statement. NUTA president Prof Dr Bhupati Dhakal
