Cyprus College meet

Kathmandu: The oldest college in Cyprus — the Cyprus College — organised a free seminar and spot admission in coordination with the Flex Mode Management Consultancy here on Monday. According to Marina Alexandrou, director of admission and college relations, hotel management courses are popular due to their industrial value. Students from over 25 countries have enrolled in the college, she said. The college also awards 20 to 50 per cent tuition discount on merit basis. —HNS

One held for rape

KATHMANDU: Police arrested Lal Bahadur Lama alias Chyangba of Sarlahi for raping a six-year-old girl at Dakshindhoka, Jorpati, on Monday. Police,said Lama (18) raped the girl after luring her with sweets. — HNS

Swimming pool death

KATHMANDU: Kundan Dhakal (20) died in a swimming pool at Mahendra Police Club around 3pm on Monday. He was declared dead on arrival at Kathmandu Model Hospital. Police said hashish was found on him. — HNS

Chief justice returns

KATHMANDU: Chief Justice Hari Prasad Sharma returned on Monday after attending a three-day summit of Chief Justices of South Asia and the 11th conference of SAARC Law, held in Paro, Bhutan. Sharma said consensus prevailed among the participants over the need for efficient and swift delivery of justice. — RSS

KATHMANDU: The government has appointed former deputy executive director of Radio Nepal and columnist, Dhurba Kumar Deuja, as executive chairman of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti for a period of four years. — RSS
